Not that I really need to 'defend myself' but I thought I would clarify my technique, as some people have made comments to me around the web that perhaps all I do is hit a button and vectorize an image. Not so. I work from an original photo, but I by-hand draw each piece with the pen tool and layer them properly according to the depth of the colors. I don't find any true artistry in simply filtering or altering a photo. Some people might argue that vector/pixel/computer art isn't true artistry either...but I must say that in this era, I need to diasgree.
